LISC invests, leverages millions in Milwaukee neighborhoods

excerpt from Field Notes:

In addition to providing neighborhood planning and project technical assistance to our community development partners, another major activity of LISC is the provision of financial support. By being part of a national organization, Milwaukee has been able to access national resources to support local community development efforts. Since 1995, by working with established community development partners, LISC has invested nearly $16 million in Milwaukee neighborhoods. These commitments have leveraged over $100 million in additional
investment. Here are some recent LISC investments:

Crown Court Properties – $846,000 loan to acquire and rehab a HUD foreclosed,
62-unit elderly housing development located at 5th St. and Concordia Ave.
